Michelle and Brett got married at the beautiful Dreams Palm Beach Resort in Punta Cana surrounded by their closest friends and family. Michelle and Brett’s engagement photos were a blast so I couldn’t wait to travel down to Punta Cana with my sister to be able to photograph their wedding day!
The day began with the girls getting their hair done at the resort Spa while sipping mimosas and then a little jumping on the bed. The guys prepped themselves and celebrated with a cheers. Michelle surprised Brett by sewing a heart into his suit jacket that was made from a piece of Brett’s mother’s wedding dress. Charms on Michelle’s beautiful bouquet also represented those who could not be present. Before Michelle and Brett saw each other other for the first time that day, letters were exchanged and read quietly to themselves. Seriously, one of the cutest moments. 🙂
After a sweet first look, portraits were taken on the beach – I wish there were palm trees in Minnesota – they are the best! The wind definitely gave us a run for our money, but it was well worth it! The ceremony occurred with one of the best recessionals I have ever seen – BEACHBALLS – and no one got pelted in the face, so that’s a plus!
Bride and groom portraits happened after the ceremony – and wow. Michelle and Brett definitely know how to bring the smiles, laughter, and to model the hair in the wind 😉 Once portraits finished, the real party began at the reception which took place on an island in the middle of the pools at the resort. A yummy tropical dinner, emotional speeches, a surprise choreographed and musical number by the bridesmaids, a sweet first dance, and one of the funnest reception dances I have been able to attend. Really though, these guys know how to party!
I hope you all enjoy the preview of Michelle and Brett’s gorgeous wedding day!
